[Opening Scripture:]
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33"
Devotion: Jesus Christ of Nazareth in this verse is drawing the attention of (treasures) his disciples to the promises contained in his spoken Word. He said these things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace, " be of GOOD CHEER" . The spoken Word is the active Word; THE WORD AT WORK.
When we study the Word without speaking it in faith to our life, we only get knowledge, which is good in itself. However, if we want peace and all other things pertaining to life and godliness: the Word must move from the mind/heart to the mouth; in other words, the Word must be confessed (spoken) in faith to produce solution to our challenges. After we have spoken the Word in faith, we must be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world; this means too that we, treasures, also have overcome the world.
Dear treasures, are you going through tribulation or a let-down? Apply the principle laid down by Christ in his Word. Share your comments here!
Bible Reading: John 16:31-33
PRAYER: Father, your word shall continually be in more negativism. I am all positive and faith-full. I declare that your promises in Joel 2:26 are mine.
Confession: I am a name and a praise amongst all people on the earth... A TREASURE! (Zeph 3:20)
